Virtual Music Concert: The Bright Side of Bluegrass

Join musician Colby Maddox for an evening of Bluegrass music. Colby is a veteran mandolinist, fiddler, and singer who currently resides in Chicago and teaches at the Old Town School of Folk Music. He favors the bluegrass style and songs about hard work, celebration, and solemn contemplation. Instrumentals are also part of Colby's solo show, and he has a rare skill for both delivering the tune and adding some on the spot excitement.

A string band workshop with Sunnyside Up 4-6 p.m..
Work on one instrumental tune and one vocal song with your instrument group (mandolin, fiddle, guitar or bass) for the first hour and join with the other instruments in the second hour to perform in duo, trios or quartets. Styles include bluegrass, old time and rock.
Concert 7 p.m.
After dinner Sunnyside Up takes the stage to play though a mix of originals and bluegrass standards.
$20 for the workshop, $20 for the concert, $30 for both
